It is wise to keep your immunity strong so you can easily fend off invaders and pathogens that can make you sick.
A good start for using natural health therapies to increase your immunity is to pay attention to how you feel. Know that if you are feeling tired, sluggish or below your normal energy level you may be fighting off a ‘bug’ even if you otherwise still feel healthy.
The following are great strategies to employ to stay healthy naturally.
- With your fist, thump your sternum a couple inches below your collarbones. This action stimulates your thymus gland, the ‘master gland’ of the lymph system. This will help swollen lymph nodes and keep your immune system at its best. Thump for about 30 seconds.
- Tap on your K-27 acupuncture points. This will help revitalize you and help you think more clearly. To tap on K-27; find your collarbones. Slide your fingers to the middle where there is a bump, drop down an inch and out an inch. There may be an indent or some soreness. Use the tops of 2 or more fingers and tap for about 30 seconds.
- Tap on your spleen points. To help to lift your energy and boost your immune system. Find these points by moving your hands directly in line with your nipples below your breasts and down one more rib. Tap as with the K-27 points above. Again, these points may be sensitive.

- Drink lots of fluids. Staying hydrated is vital to your body functioning at its best. Healing uses up even more fluids.
- Get plenty of rest. Your body needs down time to rejuvenate.
- Breathe deeply. Bacteria, viruses and other pathogens cannot survive in an oxygen-rich environment.
- Whether it is massage or more simply being held or having your hair stroked, touch improves the immune system. And it feels so nice and comforting.
- If you have fever, eat ‘cooling’ foods such as fresh vegetables and fruits. Adding fresh mint and lime to your foods will help open your lung passages.
- If you are experiencing chills, eat warming foods such as ginger, garlic, and curry. These are best prepared in soups, stews or sautés.
Consistently using these easy tips and natural health therapies can be instrumental in helping you return to health and stay naturally healthy in the future.

Several years ago a friend told me about EFT and so I went to the EFT home page and gave it a look. Wow, what a fascinating concept. In a nutshell, EFT (which stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques) is a form of acupuncture but you tap on yourself instead of using needles. Gary Craig, the creator of EFT sums it up best. Gary Says:

I myself have been using EFT and teaching it to others for a couple of years now. EFT is an effective and fast way to delete, manage and diminish emotions of stress and fear. One of the quickest, easiest and most available Natural Health Therapies I know is to breathe. I know, I know, it sounds obvious and perhaps even over-used or trite but nevertheless should not be taken lightly. Most of us do not breathe deeply enough. It is a good place to start for natural health. Breathing deeply exchanges fresh oxygen for stale air. Oxygen as we know is a key component of life. Bringing lots of oxygen to your body brings in energy, vitality and health. Loads of oxygen work to actually kill off harmful organisms that can live in your body. And the age-old practices of Pranayama which is a sanskrit yogic name for various breathing practices can really ramp up your energy so that you can truly feel that energetic life force coursing through your body. I’ll write more on this subject in future entries. For now, BREATHE, deeply, slowly and with intention for healing for your greatest good.

Natural Health Therapies can include a wide range of topics and information. Products, services and self-directed techniques that all fall under the umbrella of natural health therapies can be overwhelming and confusing.
I like to learn about and consider everything I find ,then simplify, and focus on what I find that works best for me. I encourage you to do the same. I often bring something new into my life to improve it and share with others. I tend to focus on natural health therapies related to stress reduction, good nutrition, exercise and skin care. Many of these techniques are free or inexpensive and only require a committment toward and desire for, greater health. There are a few products I have found that work exceptionally well too and I like to endorse these products in the hopes that others will experience their benefits.
There are many natural ways to achieve optimum health and wellness and an important part of the formula is to minimize stress and to invite a balanced lifestyle. Stress relief that results in greater life balance can be achieved in many ways. Exercise of any kind, meditation, yoga, dancing, prayer, good nutrition, massage and conscious deep breathing are all great ways to start on the road to taking better care of your health naturally.
By adding any or all of these natural health therapies or practices to your life you will be working towards reducing stress and increasing your ability to meet every day challenges with a more calm and centered outlook.
